The
Howling Coyote is
owned by Mit (left) and Laura (right) Truax who,
in 2003, fled the corporate world to pursue their long-standing
dream -- owning and operating a place where the finest Roadhouse
Blues and classic rock artists perform, and where people would
always be guaranteed a good time.
Mit
says, "We really wanted to have the stand-alone feeling
of a roadhouse-type club of the kind that made live music
famous. There have been many clubs like this that we have
enjoyed in places like New Orleans and Austin."
The
name The
Howling Coyote was
a combination of the howling music that is the blues and
the free spirit that is the coyote.
Live music
is what The
Howling Coyote is all about. "Laura
and I have always liked Roadhouse Blues and classic rock," Mit
says. “We have sought out the best bands in these genres
to play at The
Howling Coyote.
The club’s goal is to have a line-up of talent so
good that people will show up just knowing there
will he something good to hear.
Laura
says, "The club is a good casual place to hang even
when the bands aren't playing. We generally have a 30’s
and up professional crowd. The
Howling Coyote has
a full liquor bar with a variety of martinis.
